Information for international students

Moving to a new city and beginning a new study should be a happy and exciting experience. The University of Amsterdam has a number of services and support facilities to ensure this is the case.

Among the first things the UvA can help you with, is finding somewhere to live and finding out what papers you will need to live there legally.

UvA Master’s Introduction (August, 2012)

All new international Master's degree students at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) are cordially invited to attend a special three-day introduction. The main purpose of this event is to prepare you for your forthcoming studies.

Further information on the programme and on how to apply is available through the link below.

International Student Network (ISN)

In addition, the International Student Network (ISN) Amsterdam, a student run organisation, is dedicated to helping international students studying at the University of Amsterdam and Hogeschool van Amsterdam make the most of their stay in the Netherlands. Each semester there is an introduction organised by the ISN for international students arriving at the UvA (see link below for details).

These pages should provide you with enough information to start the process of coming to Amsterdam to study, as well as details of where to go for help.
